The Best Season for Wedding Traditionally, weddings in all cultures were celebrated in the time of rest after the hard work or in the times of religious easing (after the Christmas fast or Ramadan, for instance). However, today’s social realities allow freedom from all restrictions. Any season may be chosen for the wedding ceremony, and each has its advantages and disadvantages. Winter is the traditional season for wedding. But things it provides to the modern engaged can be considered in terms of finances, weather, assortment and other aspects. Thus, main advantage of winter wedding is that prices for everything (food, restaurants, hairdresser’s services) reduce substantially. Winter views may be very romantic and beneficial for photos. Also, St. Valentine’s Day, the day of all lovers is an advantage of winter. As for the disadvantages, the following may be distinguished: certain problems appear which are related to the cold weather – the beauty of the wedding gown may be concealed under the fur mantlet; long walks around the city are impossible. Moreover, wonderful white snow may turn into thaw which is not so attractive. Transport problems are also more possible in winter, when icing and snowfall may prevent the traffic. Diseases are common phenomenon in winter. Unlike all other products, fruits and vegetables grow in price in winter. Spring wedding is popular in countries where the weather is favorable this time. However, it is the season of love in all cultures due to the nature awakening from the winter dreams. The benefits of spring are obvious: there is no buying craze in spring, and the prices have not started to grow after winter. Spring is very romantic season; and that inner stir and anticipation of something good and happy is felt by everyone – so this may be beneficial for wedding. For all that, disadvantages are evident as well: the Great Christian Fast begins in spring; the assortment of wedding gowns is the poorest – the last year’s gowns have been already sold, while the new collections have not been yet released. However, these disadvantages have nothing to do with the late spring, which is very similar to summer – wonderful weather and gowns range, but the prices have been growing. Also, the prejudice as for wedding in May should not be forgotten by those who are superstitious. For the rest late spring is the best time for wedding. Summer is the most popular season among future brides and grooms. The key advantage of the summer wedding is the wonderful weather and possibility for the bride to appear in front of guests in all her beauty. Any fantasy concerning wedding gown can be realized. Decollete, open back – any caprice is available and appropriate. Wedding can be celebrated outdoor in summer. Fruits become essentially cheaper, and this ensures the diversity of the dinner table. The number of variants for honeymoon grows essentially: the couple can even spend honeymoon in the country. The evident drawbacks of summer include its popularity, which means the competition between the couples for the best time of wedding ceremony, restaurant reservation in advance etc. Prices increase significantly, especially for wedding gowns. Many potential guests leave for vacations, so you have to notify them well in advance. Fall weddings are traditional, and very popular, especially in the beginning of the season when the weather is fantastic, the views are wonderful and the mood is not spoiled by the anticipation of winter. In the beginning of autumn the bride can bravely plan the openness of her wedding gown. Fruits are still cheap, as well as flowers, and the choice of flowers is unlimited. Prices begin to go down. However, among the main disadvantages of fall wedding is bad weather in November.
These are the most common advantages and disadvantages of celebrating the wedding in each of four seasons. Even if the forecast is not in your favor, remember that love overcomes everything, and bad weather is not an essential obstacle.
